About Me
My name is Ryan Breeden and I am a sports broadcaster and media personality. I currently work with Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, where I broadcast Women’s Basketball and Baseball. I am also broadcasting high school football for ESPN Tulsa.
I was the lead broadcaster for ORU Women’s Basketball for the 2022-23 season, where I called 23 of the 31 games. My duties included travelling with the team, with all games streamed live with PlayFly Sports, with home games being video and road games being audio only. My duties increased in early Spring 2023 when I shifted over to the prestigious ORU Baseball program. As the primary sub, I called 15 of the first 20 games of the 2023 season on the ORU Sports Network. In total I have called 38 ORU sporting events since November 2022, which was a month before I graduated from college.
I graduated from Oklahoma State University in December 2022, with a degree in sports media and a minor in sports management. While in school, I mastered skills not just in broadcasting, but in interviewing, writing, photography, videography, editing, multimedia and even acting.
Before my senior year of college, I served as the play-by-play broadcast intern for the Pierre Trappers during the 2022 summer collegiate baseball season. This internship was integral in me finding my style and my confidence. I spent over two months traveling around South Dakota, North Dakota and Iowa while learning technical skills and real life lessons. My efforts over the 36 games were rewarded, earning 2022 Expedition League Broadcaster of the Year honors.
I recently won 3 awards at the 2022 Oklahoma Broadcast Education Association awards show, winning 1st place in both the broadcast feature and podcast categories and 2nd place for best play-by-play broadcast. That spring, I was also the PA Announcer for Stillwater Pioneers baseball, led by 2022 No. 1 overall MLB Draft pick Jackson Holliday. During the pandemic, I spent time at The O’Colly working on my writing abilities, including covering the 2021 Big 12 Basketball Tournament in Kansas City. I've also advanced my photography skills, as I was on the field for several OSU baseball and football games, including the primetime Bedlam game in 2021.
The last four years have been hugely beneficial in my development as a person and as a media personality, and I’m very excited to see where my talents and life experiences can lead me in the future.
